[SOLVED] Enabling Samba Share

Hi,I would like upload audio files to shared folder on SD card with Rune via LAN from Windows PC.It seems that Samba is installed(samba-rune) but not active.I tried enabling services smbd and nmbd,edit smb.conf ,no change.I cant see RuneAudio from my desktop PC.SSH works well.I would appreciate any help.Thanks

Thanks ACX, SMB is running now and RuneAudio accessible from windows machine and android tablet too.

I am having the same problem but the solution provided does not seem to work for me. I dont see the share on other devices (Windows or OSX). I am running release version: 0.3 (build: beta-20141027) FWIW

I have the same problem, I know there is a bug but with all this information I still can't get samba share started.
DEV mode ON restarted player and executed "systemctl start smbd"

Is there something else I can do to make it work, or just wait till next release? I would be very pleased if this works. Thanks for all the work!

UPDATE: after modifying \etc\samba\smb.conf (adding /mnt/MPD/USB entry) it works! I now have READ/WRITE access to my USB keys!

Marcelles: could you please post your smb.conf? I am also struggling to see my harddisk on my windows PC.

Edit:Solved. Now I need to password protect the mounted drive.

Hi,
I can see rune audio from windows all right by following the instructions in this post.
But Ubuntu says it can't get the list of shares... Any ideas?
