I finished my power supply.

It's very compact (6 cm x 3 cm) because I want to use the housing of the 7" display. I got a HifiBerry case in which the Pi and PiFi DAC are placed. This is mounted on the back of the housing for the display. So I can use the left space for the regulator board. I can install heatsinks when required.

My overal schematic:

I do use the option to switch power via the regulators via the SHDWN line. Each regulator is fed via the unregulated supply coming from the rectifier. I use the trimpots to fine tune the output voltage.

Hello,

first of all, compliments for your work and your detailed explanations.

I'd like to know why did you use adjustable version of the LDO, and not the fixed one for 3.3 and 1.8 V.

I also see that you put a small capacitor in parallel to each diode. I've never seen such a configuration; what's the scope of those capacitors ?

LBNL: using 4 filtering capacitors instead a single bigger one, has any benefit on the output ripple ?

Thank you for your answers.

I'm really pleased to see that some people have tried my psu tweak, but what is your conclusion about the sound? - does it make a difference and if, in what way?

Cheers

Very nice modding gentlemen
Since I have many friends who eager to possess so call 3xPi while lazy or no skill of soldering.
I have plan to make a mod version so call Audiophile Pi version including:
A PSU supply clean 5V- 3V3- 1V8 - Ground via a male socket.
A mod pi with jumper, (SMPS not remove, just wire a "key" pin through a jumper) >> normal socket via 5V microUSB;
and "Audiophile" Female socket with 4 wires GPIO 2, PP8, PP9, GPIO 6)
A worst scenario: no jumper, just Female socket.

So is that possible?
Thank you for your input.
