About clicks and pops again

Postby reddyshoey » 06 Aug 2016, 19:16

Hello, folks!
It seems that clicks and pops during playback is not a rare issue, using raspberry pi. But, there is always a solution, isn't it? =) So i found out that my latest problems, described here: were caused but faulty dac Yulong D200. It was replaced by the seller and is now working fine with any data.
The dac is working flawlessly, with my Mac, when I use audirvana to play my music. But with raspberry pi, no matter runeaudio, archphile i get constant clicks and pops. Even with mp3s (stream radio). No matter if it is Raspberry pi 2, Raspbery Pi 3, runeaudio 0.3, or runeaudio 0.4 - i get clicks and pops. I tried different sd cards and power sources: linear, switching, battery - no luck. I tried to play files from USB and from network - no luck, ethernet and wlan - no luck....((( no matter is it is 16/44, 14/48, 24/96 or 24/192 or DSD, i still got clicks...
But Runeaudio is working fine with my other dac - Pegasus II.
Again. D200 working fine with mac, but always clicky with RPI, and RPI is working fine with other dac... This is some kind of bad magic!
With my previous faulty D200, i got some serious problems with output higher than 24/96, but i never had clicks and pops...
So any help will be apreciated.

Here is the debug.

Is this not why this < https://www.hifiberry.com/digiplus/ > exists?

I found this information on XMOS site (Knowing, that yulong D200 uses XMOS usb input)

Now, i just need to know if runeaudio supports USBFS or it is not... I will give it a try soon

Well, guys...
It was just a bad luck for me. It was SECOND faulty yulong d200 dac, that was causing problems but in other way. (sic!)
The THIRD d200, which was sent to me by the seller works pretty nice, as it should.
I had to stop my transmission service on my runeaudio server (although it was not seeding or leaching anything) and had to set overclocking setting to "turbo" in config.txt file to get rid of clicks almost completely. I still get eventualy clicks during mpd library update, but it is not a big deal - i can live with this.
So as i understand this dac it very (VERY) sensitive to interrupts on usb data feeding... if something interfeares your usb connection - you get clicks...

Thank you guys for your good work, and sorry for messing around with something that was not caused by runeaudio.

Do you think the issue from USB cable? During the 1st and 2nd ones, have you tried to use another USB cable? Tks.
