Adafruit PiTFT 28r touchscreen

Postby HarioH » 29 Jul 2016, 11:14

Hi,

I'm working on a project of headless music player, using Rune combined to the Pitft 28r from adafruit
Running on Rpi2, first boot is ok, system is fast, my partition is expanded to the complete size (16go)
Everything runs fine for the moment.

Now, i try to install all for the screen, but, i have some troubles...
FYI, the screen :

I allready used this screen on raspbian, working perfect, but on Arch, it's different.
So, first, i tryied the easy install from adafruit.
All done fine, config.txt had been changed by the program and all seems to be installed
After all of this, i shutdown the system and plug the screen on GPIO
Reboot time, screen is white, just white

Did i missed something ?

Hi,

I'm not sure the Adafruit PiTFT touch screens will work on any distribution other than their own special flavor of Raspbian. I'm pretty sure the Adafruit tech people have confirmed that their capacitive screens won't work; I'm not sure about the resistive touch screens. I would love to be proven wrong on this, though. I have been looking for a working 3.5" or less capacitive touchscreen that works with Rune and the Raspberry Pi for months, with no success.

I have been able to get Rune to work with 3.5" resistive touch screens from Waveshare (the Spotpear) and a no-name brand, both from ebay. See
