[solved] AirPlay and UPnP not available

Postby sykodad » 14 Sep 2016, 20:59

I have two installations of Rune 0.4 beta. On both systems (both RPi2, one with an IQaudio Pi-Dac+, the other one with a IQaudio Digiamp+) I cannot select both the AirPlay and UPnP renderer. Clicking the buttons simply does not produce any result. Both protocols are active in the configuration. Any idea?

Regards,

Jan

You shouldn't press on the buttons.
You need to connect TO rune from your other machine which has or plays the music ( you have to be connected to the same network with rune).
For example, get your Android phone with your Pi on the same wifi, then use Allstream app to select the Airplay. Within Rune UI you should see the icon automatically turns to "AIRPLAY".

Thanks for clearing this up.

Unfortunately, none of my devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) shows the AirPlay capability of the Runeaudio devices, while my FireTV with AirReceiver does show up. This is the reason that led me to thinking the renderer has to be selected manually.

The Airplay capability is set under Menu - Settings - Features management section.
There you will see Airplay, Spotify, UPnP/DLNA and other settings which can be turned on or off....

So, press "Menu" square in the top right of Rune UI, then choose "Settings" from the drop-down menu, and when the Settings page opens, scroll down to the section named "Features management". Set the Airplay functionality there (On/Off, player Airplay name, etc.). Same goes for UPnP/DLNA.

Hello Denis,

both protocols are enabled in the settings menu, but still not visible to client devices.

Hello Frank,

the names are different.

Installation 1:

AirPlay: Wohnzimmer (AirPlay)
UPnP: Wohnzimmer (UPnP)

Installation 2:

AirPlay: Herrenzimmer (AirPlay)
UPnP: Herrenzimmer (UPnP)
