airplay help + hifiberry+ DAC

Postby dror » 27 Dec 2015, 22:13

hi,
I can't make system play airplay.
I followed this
airplay-not-working-t512-10.html

Ans after doing so, indeed HifiBerry green LED came up, but for some strange way NO sound.
Turning airplay off back to normal mode and sound is up again.
I'm using this AllStream AirPlay app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... es.android

and it recognizes Rune Airplay

Thank you for any help

Any help? suggestion? commands to log?

"AirPlay" is showing on RuneUI Playback page, with the "wheels" rolling all the time. DAC+ green led is on. Alsamixer volume seems ok (41). But sound is absent.

:(

Hi dror,

on my Pi2, also equipped with a hifiberry+ DAC, airplay (with AllStream) works without any issues.
Maybe this has to do with your iptables settings you did for your routerless network.

- get rune running in mpd mode
- start AllStream on your android device
- connect to rune audio
Rune Audio should automatically switch to airplay mode
- start playing your songs on your android device

Hi
I will test it without the firewall settings, although I can't figure why its related since wlan0 interface is all allowed.

In the meantime, the process you described is exactly what I do. I can see Rune Airplay in AllStream, and after connection, RuneUI goes to Airplay mode automatically. Now, at this point, this is what I see:
1. the "wheels" near the "airplay" are spinning forever (do you also see that? or they are stopping for you?)
2. volume knob is grayed, but at 100.
3. DAC light is green
4. Music played on Android doesn't play to phone's speakers - this tells me Android DOES stream (If I stop AllStream, music is immediately play on phone's speakers)

Cheers

Yes, stopping Allstream brings RuneUI back to MPD state + a blue popup is telling something like "the layer is now unlocked"

Ok, I have been monitoring the wlan0 interface with vnStat tool.
It seems that the stream does occur. Monitoring before I turn Allstream on is about a few kb/s for rx, and when connecting it immediately jump to 1.5Mb/s, and is independent on the condition of the music played on the android device.

any thoughts?

EDIT:
Also Allstream recognize Rune as a DLNA renderer, but in RUI upmpdcli is grayed
please help
