album art

what controls the automatic download of album art? I have a large mp3 collection taken from my cd collection. when I started doing that 15 years ago it wasn't worth trying to attach the art to the file since I played them in the car. since I have a screen that displays more information, I wouldn't ,mind the automated process of showing the album cover. I've noticed some people recommended turn art off/on but that seems to work once. I wouldn't expect every song/cd to immediately display art but the display seems to be very inconsistent. what would 'encourage' the art to update more often or faster?

Hi tsawyer,

To get a copy of the album art you could try this: https://www.howtogeek.com/57237/how-to- ... c-library/
When you have the folder.jpg files in the right folders you can build a batch file which uses mp3tag to embed the album art into the MP3 files:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mp3tag/

just as a heads up, I used an app called album art downloader. I was able to update the majority of my usb drive with about 80 gb of music pretty quickly. well quicker that me having to find it and dump it into thousands of dirs. so far everything I spot checked seem to have art, so far so good
