Another wifi question

Postby nzlowie » 23 May 2016, 10:25

Hi everyone, I've just installed Rune and it looks great! Been looking through the posts and can't seem to find what I'm looking for so i hope i haven't missed it....

Anyway, it's up and running and connected to my home wifi network, trouble is it won't bring up Spotify or any of the other web based audio sites. The remote app I've installed on my phone won't show the pi so is it really connected?

Appreciate any guidance on setting up the network side of things.

(Raspberry pi 2 with the official 7" touch screen and wifi dongle.)

Thanks Dave

Here is a program you can use to find out what IP address the Raspberry Pi is using....

Advanced IP Scanner 2.4.2601
"Reliable and free network scanner to analyse LAN. The program shows all network devices, gives you access to shared folders and FTP servers, provides remote control of computers (via RDP and Radmin), and can even remotely switch computers off. It is easy to use and runs as a portable edition. It should be the first choice for every network admin."

Example....

Download it and install it...

After you have installed the program.... Run a scan by pressing on the big button (top left hand corner) with "Scan" written on it. It may take some time (5 minutes or less). You should be able to see the Raspberry Pi's IP address in the list. Use that IP address in your desktop PC's web browser to access the Pi. Make sure the Pi is turned on when you do this.

Let me know if you have trouble.

I do have a green tick to say i have a network connection, its to 10.1.1.1 which is is my router. I also ran the network scanner and found runeaudio at 10.1.1.1. If i connect to this in a browser using the network cable it loads my router. Am I missing something simple here?

Thanks Dave
