audio cast from pc or android to rune ?

Postby pierce » 29 Mar 2017, 22:33

is there some way I can 'audio cast' ala chromecast from a windows PC and/or android device to my runeplayer on raspberry ? I don't quite understand all the renderer stuff, mpd etc, but it won't let me select DLNA, which is what I think I need to do this?

Hi pierce,

UPnP is enabled by default.
Rune Audio can only be used as a renderer (device that plays your music).
You also need a control and server application.
On an Android device you can use BubbleUPnP for example.

From Android - AirAudio, AllStream for airplay cast which will stream your android audio whatever it is (both are paid applications but have free versions). Also try Tubio for Upnp mirroring.

Windows - Stream What You Hear (SWYH) which will stream your windows audio as is to Rune.
