Audiobook resume

Postby ohidontknow » 05 Sep 2014, 10:21

Hi,

I listen to lots of audiobooks, radio dramas and radio art. I'd like to use Rune as the player for my collection: there's no reason why this stuff has to rely upon sub-standard reproduction. However, as most of the files are at least 3 hours long it'd really need a resume (at the last point) option to make RuneAudio a useful tool for this content. Is there any chance of including this option? And perhaps also an option for a non-music audio library with appropriate organisation.

Thanks for your time

I realize its not the perfect solution for your request, but if you pause the recording and stop the player, when you restart the Pi, the paused recording will automatically start playing.

Thanks for the workaround suggestion. Though I'm not sure how practical it'd be as I'd really rather keep the device on 24/7 so that it can be used by everyone in the household. I'm also planning to use a CuBox-i with an ethernet to router connection. The router is in an understairs cupboard which will make disconnecting and restarting the CuBox-i a right faff. And then I'm not sure if the CuBox-i will behave in the same manner as the Pi when restarted. Maybe it'd be better to wait and hope that the gods of Rune will deliver something audiobook specific.

Another vote for this - I really want to use Runeaudio in my little campervan and audiobooks are an essential - we can't use theCD player in the cab when parked up overnight.
