Best re-sample quality in MPD/Alsa

Why are you re-sampling MP3s to 32/192? There is no reason for up sampling your music.

The only good reason for upsampling your source is when you use a DAC which works with automatic upsampling (i.e. 24/192), but the resampling hardware is poorly implemented. Only in this case it's preferable to leave that operation to the software, otherwise it's a waste of CPU and you are possibly degrading the signal with the resampling.
