Brand New User Review

Postby HotRodV » 16 Apr 2016, 15:20

Received my new pi3 yesterday :D. i had already prepared my new Samsung 16G evo+ micro sd card with the latest img of Rune Audio. Connected it to my home router, powered it up and typed in runeaudio in my browser. WOW the GUI appeared and in no time I am listening to my FLAC files coming out of the attached Dragonfly DAC. No hicups no problems just smooth sounding hirez music. i am still in the process of playing with the software to learn all the features. BIG BIG thanks to all involved for bringing this wonderful product FOR FREE! to people like me who enjoy their music in such a easy to use and intuitive pakage.

P.S. Just loaded Mpod on my Iphone 6 plus and control of Rune is now available thru the phone. Fantastic!

Same here! PI3 + DAC + and it just worked....no problem.
Working on my Spawn Kirishima speakers and thinking about a miniDSP for EQ and some room correction.
2A3 PP tube amp, Akititka preamp, PI3 sounding great!

Has played every file format I've thrown at it so far!

Thanks,

Lumpy

Hey Lumpy,
that preamp looks pretty cool. I've not familiar with the brand but checking out the site reminds me of my little Hafler. Looks like there is room inside for a raspberry pi and DAC. I'm planning to add mine inside the case, tap off the power supply with a 5v regulated supply, ...

Thanks for posting your gear.

Hi all

Noobie here but just wanted to say an immense thank you to all involved in bringing this stunning piece of work to fruition. Just bought my pi 3, with DAC+ and listening through my HD600s. Sound quality stunning, comparing very favourably with the hp output of my cyrus 8vs2 amp, and much more portable and thank to you lovely people, a joy to use. I can't thank you enough...big hairy man love to you all

I want to thank the runeaudio team for the brilliant packaging and easy of install and use. I was up and running in about a hour from the time I downloaded the SD card img. I had earlier tried Kodi and struggled getting it working with my HiFi for a few days after which I switched.

Is there a way to disable config related settings on the web interface to users that only use the play back and MPD options.

Thanks again.
