Browse Library page blank after Rebuild MPD Library

Postby chuckles » 24 Sep 2015, 05:07

There are actually 2 problems here. The first is that if I delete an album from the library and do a rebuild, the deleted album still shows up. The second is that after doing a couple of rebuilds to try to get rid of the deleted albums, the Browse Library page is now broken. All that is displayed is the title "Browse Your Library"

What do I need to do in order to rebuild the library from scratch?
Is the album delete issue a Rune or MPD bug?

Thanks,
A

Here is more on the blank "Browse Library" page. This only seems to occur on Windows based machines (I have tried XP and 7) running Firefox. Both these systems display the same behaviour. The "Browse Library" page remains blank until I access the Rune GUI from another system (Mac, iPad, Windows). As soon as the "Playback" page is displayed on the other system (regardless of browser used), the page is displayed on the Windows system.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Looking for a solution

Thanks,
A

hi there,

just a +1 on this.

seems to be happening over here, too. i have the latest gitpull build for a Rasp Pi. same behavior where the Library page is blank as far as song entries.. (the page is not blank, the page shows the frame and control icons... just that there are no songs listed).

i tried the suggestions in this thread, deleting the var/lib/mpd/mpd.db file and then restarting / doing a library rebuild.. i can see -- via SSH -- that the mpd.db file gets rebuilt after a minute or two, but still nothing showing on the Library page. no difference after rebooting the pi, after clicking around, nothing..

BUT, the strangest thing, as noted by another person in this thread, as soon as i surfed to the Runeaudio Library page from a SECOND browser, the Library page suddenly populated on both the first browser and on the second browser. It's like the second browser woke the page up...?

The first browser is Firefox -- and i already did clear the browser cache and restarted the browser. The second browser is Internet Explorer.

Very interesting behavior, yes?

Thank you for your wonderful work on this project. Its really a wonderful piece of work so far and you seem like some very brilliant coders who ALSO have excellent design aesthetic senses. That's a rare mix. Thank you.

Best regards,

Both issues are there for a very long time already. Almost a year ago I already noticed it.

I use picoreplayer by now. Completely stable and now issues so far for more than half a year. Tried it on a old raspberry i had lying around. A week later Runeaudio stopped streaming and got library issues. So I swapped at that moment to the picoreplayer and never went back.

Only thing I miss it the really nice GUI. :(
