BT Hub 4 authentication over wifi

Postby kayjays3 » 09 Aug 2015, 15:33

I cannot connect to my BT hub via wifi, the wired connection works fine. I think the problem may well be with the password authentication. I've tried through Rune UI, wifi-menu and wpa_supplicant/wpa_cli and manually editing the wlan0 and wpa_supplicant.com files. In all cases the ssid is detected but no matter what I do it always fails to connect. Board is a Raspi B+, USB Wifi is Ralink RT5370, the wifi drivers and firmware all seem to load ok, Rune is latest version for B+. I have had it running with Raspbian but had to manually edit the config files for the ssid and password to work. I've tried every piece of advice I can find, reflashed the sd countless times and still no success. Before I abandon this altogether I thought I'd ask whether anyone else has seen this problem, better still has anyone fixed it.

Cheers

Thanks for the response. Reflashed the SD and updated as suggested, it has changed things a little but now I'm seeing similar problems to those others have reported.

Rebooted after the update, ethernet cable and usb wifi dongle both in, eth0 is connected. Network scan finds my SSID, select and enter password, hit connect, no connect and it then returns to the network scan. Refresh interfaces, no connect. Reboot, wlan0 not connected, refresh interfaces and it connects. I can then ping from the laptop running the UI. Shutdown, power off, remove ethernet, power on and no connection - router doesn't show a link. Shutdown and reconnect ethernet, UI shows eth0 and wlan0 both not connected although one clearly is, refresh interfaces and eth0 reports connected, wlan0 is not. After that reboots and restarts don't restore wlan0 connection.

So progress of sorts but no fix.

Cheers

Hi,

thank you for the report.

At the moment i have multiple devices (RP2, ODROID and Cubietruck) running and all work just fine.
The only device i only tested this months ago is the RP B+.

Give me some time to test this on a B+.
