Hello, I tried RuneAudio for the first time and it's amazing! The UI looks brilliant, everything works without problems (Raspberry Pi model B, ELE EL-D01 DAC, TP-Link WN722N Wi-Fi) and it's amazing how fast it boots. But there are a few things which make this pointless for my needs and I don't know whether it's a bug, if it's due to some Pi's restrictions or a very bad idea. If it's not a bug, don't take this as complaining or something, it's just a positive criticism with the best of intentions or more like a suggestion
1) When I close WebUI, it continues to play but next time when I start WebUI, it will stop the playback and erase my queue list. Is this a bug or? Because the whole point of having an other music player than PC is for it to be completely stand-alone, independent of the computer. Like this, it actually isn't because as soon as I turn off WebUI, it's over.
There are tons of situations why this isn't very good. For example, I create some queue playlist and listen to music. When I have to go to work, I will pause playback and turn off my PC. But when I return from work. I want to continue listening where I left off, but when I turn on my PC and open WebUI, it will erase my queue list. Situation no. 2: I'm listening to music with WebUI opened on my PC. And then I go to kitchen to prepare lunch and I don't like the current song, so I will take my smartphone to skip song, but when I start WebUI on my smartphone, it will stop playback and reset everything Or for example this morning I had a situation where I started it from my smartphone because I wanted to listen to music while my PC was booting up and then I made a few phone calls and pictures with camera, I run out of RAM on my phone so it killed the browser. Next time I returned to WebUI to change song, it reloaded browser and WebUI and again it killed my play session
And also I don't know which distro is running in the background and if it's even possible but I planned to set up LIRC to be able to use RuneAudio with IR remote and to put a 4x20 LCD display to show info. So I can open WebUI, create a queue playlist and then close WebUI and use it only with remote. And when I want to change the playlist, just open WebUI and do some changes. But like this, It wouldn't be possible since re-opening WebUI would restart playback and erase queue.
Is it possible to fix this somehow so Pi is a stand-alone player and WebUI is used only to control the playback (to send commands to Pi and receive info to show)? Otherwise I will have to do something on my own, because this is useless to me And I really like it and want to use it!
2) I shared a folder from my laptop with 150 GB of music and also connected my external 500 GB HDD, both of them work like a charm. It took quite a while to scan library and update the database, but I expected this, it's a lot of data and this wouldn't be a problem if it's done once in the beggining. But after rebooting my Pi, I have to manually mount shared folder everytime and it rescans the library again. Why? Waiting for 10 minutes or even more every time I turn on my Pi is not really an option.
3) This is probably a bug: volume "knob" often dissapears from WebUI and I have to minimize-maximize browser window or change its size and it reapears again. It happens on my phone as well (both browsers are Chrome).
I hope I was not too harsh These are just my suggestions since like this, it's completely useless for me if the Pi depends on it's client. I will rather use my PC as audio source because it will preserve my queue even after closing Winamp and turning off my PC.
EDIT: I forgot to tell that I can't access WebUI with http://RuneAudio or http://RuneAudio.local, but I found it's IP adress in my router so I access it with http://IP-address, but I don't tink that this affects something.
