Build MPD library from NFS share

Postby perryni » 05 Mar 2016, 16:47

I have just added an NFS share (WHS2011) and RuneAudio has put a green tick by it so I presume all is ok but when I try to build the MPD library nothing happens.

Am I missing something?

Perry, go to 'Library' -> 'Network Mounts' and click on your mount. See if any of your files are there. If not, select the mount, click on the actions icon on the far right (three horizontal bars). Select 'Update this folder'.

This will also rebuild the library.

If you don't see any files, your mount point may be wrong or you don't have read access to the files.

If you do see files but no sound when playing (playback tab, left 'circle' is moving/counting, right volume 'circle' is at something like 80), this is a different issue. Try headphones to verify sound.

The solution beneath by Hondagx35 quoted from another thread did the trick for me:

Hi ,

in most cases this is a permission problem.

Mpd runs as user mpd, using ssh you root.

You can try to modify the settings on your windows machine or change the Daemon user : group.
See Menue->MPD->Daemon user : group
