Can not see UI / new install

Postby jim-rune » 05 Jan 2016, 20:35

Hello all,

I'm new. Been trying to set up on a raspberry pi.
Downloaded to SD card, pi boots to login prompt (as expected)

Can't seem to get to the UI. Using arp-scan, determined ip is 192.168.1.100.
Using Firefox, when ip is pasted to the address bar, get password dialog box...

A Username and password are being requested by http://192.168.1.100.
The site says: "Enable Mode"
User Name: rune
Password: *****

Tired: rune/audio, rune/Audio, root/rune and others.

Searched thru http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/ and forums but couldn't find the issue.
It must be simple, but, I can't seem to figure it out.

Hints? Doc/Forum links?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi jim-rune, are you sure you are pointing your browser to the right IP address? If you have access via terminal to your Rpi, log in with the standard credentials (root/rune) and check the IP from there with the "ifconfig" command.

Thanks ACX.

Good cross check. I wasn't using the right IP. The connection might be the problem. I tried a few more things (below) but, I'm out of ideas.

The ifconfig output dosn't look normal as compared to Linux mint/debian/bash...
It dosn't have any inet sections. The ether section looks more like a hardware address than an IP.
(BTW how to I set up ssh? It would be nice to be able to cut and paste output)

The rune install was with RuneOs: 0.3-beta (build 20141029)

On another SD card, the pi boots to Raspbian Jessie. From that install it gets full network and internet connectivity.

Does hardware matter?

Wondering if the version of the pi matters? I have a model B with 512.
