Cannot turn off Airplay

Postby julesjoseph » 06 Oct 2015, 21:33

I've been using RuneAudio without any problems for a few months. I recently tried using the Airplay setting to stream music from iTunes on my laptop to my hifi via the Raspberry Pi, which all worked perfectly.

However, RuneAudio is now stuck on Airplay setting. When I navigate to the RuneAudio UI, the connecting animation starts and goes on forever and it never connects. I can still SSH to the Pi using Putty. Is there a command I can enter to turn off the Airplay setting and go back to MPD?

Thanks

Now I tried airplay for the first time and I'm having the same problem. Airplay works great but after I finished playing, the RuneUI doesn't work anymore. I can change tracks and control playback with top menu buttons, it works and plays fine and also I can navigate through menus on RuneUI (settings etc.) but it shows empty queue and on playback it keeps loading song name and it shows volume 100, but it's not on 100 (I can still controll it with IR remote and my LCD display).

Hi all,

you have to stop airplay from your server.

After a reboot it should also switch to mpd back.

I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

Hi Frank

Thanks for the response. I've tried rebooting via SSH and also powering down, but it's still stuck on Airplay.

Hi ,

nice to here that it works again.

Would be great if could try to stream with airplay a second time.
You only have to switch off your airplay device before turning off Rune Audio.
It should then switch back to mpd automatically.

In my case, it switches back to MPD but the UI gets broken. I'm using Airfoil for Windows and when I'm done, there's only one button to enable/disable so I guess this means to stop the server. And after that, I can play files in MPD (via remote or via commands in top menu in RuneUI), or it starts playing automatically from MPD, if it was playing when I turned on Airplay, but Playback page just keeps loading and Queue page is empty. Everything other is working. To fix the UI, I have to reboot it. I'll try these commands as well the next time I'm going to use Airplay.

I had some issues with airplay recently. Sometimes it works (sometimes it won't work at all), but each time I've used airplay (from my macbook, or iPhone), the UI gets stuck and I have to do a reboot of the Pi to get it to show what Im currently playing again.

I updated runeaudio from /dev on a Pi 2B.
