Awesome explanation!
My system starts in about 30seg.
Yesterday, I made a backup, but it's 16gb! I used ApplePi-Bake.
What did you use to get a 1gb file?

Your backup file normally is as big as your sd-card.
Just compress it (*.zip, *.rar or *.tar.gz ...) an it'll be a lot smaller.

thank you for your image. I've tried it and it boots a lot quicker than mine, so I'm really happy about it.
