Command line timeout

Postby holon » 22 Feb 2018, 07:05

Hello. I am trying to utilize the command line in Rune. I reboot, and wait for the system to come back online. The login line will appear for two seconds. If I don't enter the login, "root," the Rpi will continue booting to Rune. If I do enter "root" as the login, it will ask for the password, again giving me two seconds to type "rune" and hit enter. If I don't do it in that time, it will continue booting to Rune. If I do, I get to the command line. At this point, it still gives me two seconds, which isn't enough time to enter "sudo apt get..." and it inevitably continues booting Rune.

Does anyone have any potential solutions? Thank you!

Is this because you have 'Local Browser' enabled in settings? Try switching it off and see if you can access the CLI.

Or you can use a program like PuTTY to access it:

I do have local browser turned on. I'll turn it off when I get home. Thanks!

I'm trying to install RuneAudio Addons from https://github.com/rern/RuneAudio_Addons. I'll follow your instructions, Frank. Thanks for saving me further frustration!

Hi.

If you want to install rern's addons he has a whole extension to the UI that you can install. Then you can choose which ones you want from a UI menu. The extension handles the installation of addons for you. See here:

addons-menu-install-addons-the-easy-way-t5370.html

Much safer doing it this way.
