[SOLVED] Connect Runeaudio to Synology server

Postby theaddies » 20 Feb 2015, 05:25

I have 2 Synology servers connected on my home network: DS209 and DS1515+. I have managed to get the DS209 connected and linked to the Raspberry pi, but for some reason I cannot get the second NAS to show the music selection. I have mounted the music folder in what I think to be an identical manner to the 209, and it appears to mount without errors, but when I go to the library the only music appearing is from the 209. I am at a bit of my whits end on this and don't know what else to try. I am pretty much a NOOB so there could be settings on the 1515+ NFS side that are different from the 209 that I need to set and haven't, but I cannot figure out what those might be. I would greatly appreciate any help you folks might be able to provide. My setup is a Raspberry PI B with a Wolfson audio card on a wired network. Music streams wonderfully from the 209. Thanks in advance. Runeaudio is awesome.

Thanks for the reply. When I mount the drive in Runeaudio on either server I do get the green tick mark indicating the mount was successful. I learned about the fastidiousness of the volume path from a previous post. It is only when I go to the library do I only see the music selection for the DS209 server and not the DS1515+. The 209 is using DSM4.2 and the 1515 is using 5.1 so it creates a little bit of confusion because the software is not identical. The 209 cannot go to the higher version. The options in the DSM5.1 that are extra are "Allow connections for non-priveleged ports (higher than 1024)" I have this not selected. Also "Allow users to access mounted subfolders" which I do have selected. I am sure by this point I have tried all possible combinations. Perhaps it is something I am or am not doing within Runeaudio? Oddly, the one drive does work and is absolutely awesome. I love the product..

Well done.

I don't know how to fix it, but I know enough to know that what I see isn't correct. music2 is the one I cannot see in Runeaudio.

I had the same issue as well. I could mount my Synology NFS share, but the contents were inaccessible. After toying with all possible combinations, I found the culprit. It's the "squash" setting that by default is not on "map all users to admin" (see attachment). After saving this setting everything worked perfectly.

Perhaps it's the fix for you as well :).

Wow. Yep. That was it. Oddly I have that exact setting on the DS209 set to "no mapping" and it works. I don't think I would have ever found it. Thanks so much. I am so glad I posted the question.

Hi

As ACX told me, im trying using search to resolve my problems with my synology ds214j.
I tried with NFS...
checked the NFS abilitation (no NFSv4 check)
then on the "music folder" called simply "music" i just modified NFS rule of this folder as wfverkerk told here.

"mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified"
