Connect to Drobo-5N

Postby gtb104 » 28 Oct 2015, 02:43

Has anyone had experience connecting their Drobo-5N as a source? I'm trying to connect using NFS and it's timing out.

The error I get is:

mount error(22): Invalid argument Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Do you have any special characters in you login credentials?

I have an "@" symbol in it. I'll try removing that.

Removing the "@" symbol didn't help. This is how I have my source configured:

Source Name: Drobo
Fileshare protocol: SMB/CIFS
IP Address: 192.168.1.17
Remote directory: /mnt/DroboFS/Shares/Music
Guest access: Off
Username: runeaudio
Password: <mixed case with numbers>
Advanced options: Off

I logged into the Pi as root and pinged the IP of the Drobo. That worked fine. Where would error logs be? I looked in /var/logs, but found nothing interesting.

I was able to manually mount the drive via the following command:
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.17/Music /mnt/MPD/NAS/drobo/ -o user=runeaudio,password=XXXXXXXXXXXX

After doing that MPD was able to build my library. However, when I played a song via the web interface, there was no sound.

I unmounted the Drobo drive, then tried mounting the drobo using the mount point "Music" via the UI. I get the same error.
