D-Link DWA-131

Postby NewToRune » 21 Dec 2016, 23:21

Hello

Raspberry Pi model B with RuneAudio doesn't recognize my USB dongle. Doesn't show up as network interface, does show up with lsusb. It is a D-Link DWA-131. I found tutorials for fixing this in a debian/ubuntu evironment, but not in arch linux/RuneAudio (with which I have pretty much no experience).

lsusb: Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2001:3319 D-Link Corp.

How can I make RuneAudio recognize and use this USB wifi dongle?

Thanks,
Greetings,
Nicolas

Looks like this uses the Realtek RTL8192EU chipset, so this may help:

Yes, thank you. This is the right chipset.
I'm sorry I can't get it to work though... I don't have experience with compiling packages myself. Could you please specify on how I can install this driver?

A quick search has not shown up a driver that you can download and install. Anything I found needs to be compiled.

It may be worth cutting your losses and getting an adapter that is plug and play on Rune/Arch. I use these to good effect:
