Sir

Thank you....it sort of worked.....

I have a album that does not play...so I deleted it and then tried to copy and past from my backup...."not enough space"....

Connected to the PC and there is 77GB of space...so I did the copy & paste - worked. I then added the 2 new albums I downloaded....still have 74GB free.

So my questions: why did it not copy and why could I not see the properties of the HDD as I do when it is connected to the PC?

Very confusing. I thought it should work like an attached HDD??

Sir
Thank you. I am now totally confused.

I tried to search how to connect to a server from Windows 10.... but it was all like "chinese".

As you said...I am trying to connect a windows PC to a Linx Pi. So this is why I ask the questions. I did search the forum and came up with nothing. So I asked the question.

Sorry if asking questions is not good...But I am just a novice and I am sorry to ask questions.

if there is anyone else who has had a similar problem I would like to hear. If this is not acceptable then I will have to accept this as a place novices with questions are not welcome.

Sir
My apologies. I was getting a little destressed and depressed.

Thank you. I read all the links and understood some. It is good to know what to ask the seach engine. Thank you.

Still not really understanding the whole thing....but I have managed to map the Rune onto my windows system.

The instruction of putting - \\192.168.1.123\music_store\USB\ into Windows Explorer - and not the browser, plus the links in last reply just put enough of the pieces together.

I hope I have not worn out my welcome.

From the outset I think Rune Audio coupled with the Digi+ (for my setup) is excellent. The sound quality is better than what I was using previously. I still have some questions...but a big bit of the puzzel (for me) has been solved.

Thank you.

I very much appreciate the help and those on the forum. I am also greatful to the makers and had previously made a modest donation. When things are better i can give more.

You only got a little distressed and depressed? Man, your lucky, I get a major depression on when things don't go right (usually my fault too, lack of knowledge or understanding)... as to how distressed I get, ask the missus! She'll tell ya a thing or two. And bro, "enough of the pieces" is enough, for now. The whole picture will only become apparent after knowing all the little pieces (our job is to work towards Nirvana, not to actually attain it). Think jigsaw puzzle.

"I hope I have not worn out my welcome." <----- LoL, not with me... a teacher, remember? When you call a dog trainer, to train your dog, the dog trainer will almost always say it's the owner that needs the training, not the dog.

"I still have some questions..." <----- Don't we all brother, don't we all. Like... whatever happened to Mary Stewart from year eight at school, I still miss her.

PS: One problem at a time, Rome wasn't built in one day. But it may have been destroyed in one day.

Sir -

My apologies for the lateness of my reply. We had some dental emergencies....with the kids. But all working out

Thank you for the suggestions and wise words. Yes more issues and more questions. But I will just enjoy the music for the moment.... I am having a CAD graphics issue and will have to buy more hardware...but that will be another day after I finish the VAT/GST reports for teh Tax department.

Thanks

Sir,
Thank you.....

Some positive news...

I have (money dictating) copied the flac files (as many as will fit) onto a Samsung SSD and attached this to the Pi3. I could only afford a 250GB (in Raid 01 configuraton - so that dictated 2 SSD's). Sound far better than using the Spinning Disc.

Plus I like to listen to the radio...and the radio is far clearer usuing Rune and the Pi3.

Next I will make up a sigma 11 linear power supply. I have the parts...But lots of other things are taking my resoruces (money and time).

Keep in touch
