Dorky question - MPDroid

Postby kraigo » 08 Apr 2014, 04:08

I have seen posts suggesting that using MPDroid to control Rune should work. I am not having any luck. I just want to control my Raspberry Pi that is running Rune, not stream back to the phone. So I input the MPD-Server IP Address (fixed via IP address reservation at the router) and let it choose the default port (6600). I leave the streaming server IP address blank.

MPDroid reports that it can't connect to the server. I'm sure it's me being new to MPD and all this stuff, but it's fun and I'm learning, so please throw me a bone on this one.

Thx.

Hi kraigo, that should work because the default port is 6600, so you only have to put the correct IP address in MPDroid Settings screen. Have you tried to configure "Preferred connection" and also "Default connection" settings? That's a bit tricky, I also had some troubles the first time I had to configure that.

Well that _WAS_ dorky! For some reason the WiFi on my phone was turned off so I was outside the firewall.

Hello...

I'm testing MPD with now, just to try controlling the volume (The option is grey in the interface, even if software is set in MPD settings and mpd.conf). But then i'm trying to connect to the MPD, i can't connect. Using the default port, and the right IP.

In on the same network, without any firewall or so.

Running the latest version of Rune (0.3beta).

What can it be? (For me it's actually not a problem, but my PCM2704 can't volumecontrol with now from the GUI, so i need to try something else. Alsamixer is working fine :-/ )
