Hi
I just stumbled over runeaudio yesterday when looking for an easy solution to stream music from my Synology NAS in my bedroom. Anyway, I borrowed a Raspberry Pi B from my cousin for trying it out, flashed the SD card and hooked it all up, but I'm struggling to get the ethernet connection working. My router doesn't display the device as being in the network (not without an IP address listed either). I got the MAC address from ifconfig in the runeaudio console and added a reserved address assignment on the router but no dice.
The ethernet cable worked with my laptop before connected to the same spot on the switch. The switch has also the computer I'm currently working on hooked up, so I know the switch currently has a network connection. The LED lights seem to be ok everywhere as well. The switch displays 100Mbps connected, the RPi has FDX green, Link sometimes blinking (but generally green) and 100 is yellow.
ifconfig displays:
eth0 flags:4163 <UP, BROADCAST, RUNNING, MULTICAST> mtu:1500

RX errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:4572 bytes 216046 (210.9 KiB)
TX errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0
The router is a Netgear WNR2000v2 (elderly wlan router) and the switch is a 'normal' Netgear ProSafe GS108GE.
Could someone give me advice or a link to a troubleshooting guide? I haven't had such a problem before and don't really know what to do.
Thanks
Regards
