Fading-out over time (Baby player)

Postby cyber7 » 30 Jan 2015, 10:35

Hi Guys
Please could you guys tell me if there is a "sleep" option, if not how would I inject an option like that?

I am busy building a RPi with RuneAudio for my baby's room (arrival in 7 weeks  ) and would like a function where it takes about an hour to take the volume from 100% to say 30% and leave it there...

Thanx for a very nice environment

Hi ACX
Thank you for the good wishes. It is my first and we are very excited! And, yes I have been MIA for a while due to work-restraints...

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up re-writing a 'wicked' script to achieve the fade. I would like to know if there is a place that I can do an add-in into the GUI. Would be nice to be able to do this from the front-end :)

At this stage what I have (see aubreykloppers.wordpress.com for the full write-up) is a script that lets you fade from your current volume to a next volume over time and keep it there.

One of the major obstacles I currently face is to add "bc" (pacman -S bc) without doing a "pacman -Syu". If I do a "pacman -Syu" and restart the system, the network does not want to work anymore... (But whilst not restarting, "bc" does, however, work)...

kind regards

Ok, after doing some coding, I came up with the following (Now in Beta 1):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4t6pcyez0r4oo ... 1.tar?dl=0

NOTE1: Install BC (with "pacman -S bc") before starting
NOTE: MPC and BC values hardcoded.

extract the file in /var/www then open your browser with:
http://<your rune ip>/slide/slide.php

It will bring up a page with values you have to enter. It is very self explanatory :) this is still very early in the coding and I need to make it Mobile Friendly. What it will do is slide the volume from a start value to an end value over time.

Future release:
1. Read the current value (volume) and make it the start value. - Done
2. Make the code Mobile Friendly.
3. Integrate into Rune as an add-on. (Will need big help here :) )
4. Only allow numeric values. - Done

kind regards
