@rastus, yes, and I did buy the transformer version for that very reason, :D

However, I suspect most people don't, and also, according to posts on the HiFiBerry forum, their implementation leaves something to be desired. They sometimes recommend shorting across the transformer, which leads me to believe they know there is a potential problem.

edit:

I guess I do need the 12-steps, LOL

Hi Guys
Thank you....my Digi+ is the transformer version - they told me this was good.

This is what I have observed: Playing the same file

Using Digi+/Rune a 44.1bit flac file shows as 44.1 on the DAC - good sound
Using Digi+/Rune a 96.0 bit flac file shows as 96.0 on the DAC - bad sound
Using Digi+/Rune a 192.0 bit flac file shows as no signal on the DAC - no sound

Using Media Monkey a 44.1bit flac file shows as 44.1 on the DAC - good sound
Using Media Monkey a 96.0 bit flac file shows as 44.1 on the DAC - good sound
Using Media Monkey a 192.0 bit flac file shows as 44.1 on the DAC - good sound

Well I am totally confused.... I have Realteck HD Audio and even when I change the bit rate it nothing happens.....I have ticked all the boxes: 44.1/44/96/192

To my way of understanding....the DAC is working....but why is nothing over 90 any good. Plus why is my MM only showing 44.1Hz. I am going to have to ask MM.

Does this shed any light on the issue?
