flac's not playing...

Postby sarot66 » 09 Jun 2016, 11:42

Hi,
I have installed RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img.gz on Pi 3, have a mac pro with ps3 as upnp server, the Pi3 is on ethernet, iBasso D14 as DAC. I use BubbleUPnP to stream from mac pro to Pi 3. I am able to listen to mp3, but not to flac, no matter the resolution.
What happens is that I can see the title and cover, but play never starts, sometimes it did for a couple of seconds (I could see on the
web interface) but stopped immediately (no sound ever).
I checked in the prefs that upnp control is on, dsd is also on. I reinstalled a few times. Note that I am able to listen to any file with
the ''local renderer'', i.e. my phone, so the chain from mac pro to BubbleUPnP seems to work.
Totally clueless...any hint?
Thanks a lot!

Hi sarot66,

can you play flac files from a network share through the webUI?

Hi Frank,
now I solved, while I do not understand how...
I switched to serviio, then reinstalled clean, and now magically works.
I remember I did try to read the files on the Pi from a usb key, and it didn't work.
And now I cannot reproduce the issue, so useless for debugging...
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Best regards,
Rosario

Hi,
I switched back to PS3 media server, I could see the file playing (i.e. time increasing in the web interface) but no
sound out of the DAC. So it's something that goes wrong in the streaming between PS3 and Rune.
Now, back to serviio, works fine.
Cheers
