Google play music streaming and NAS mount problems

Postby goldenyears » 01 May 2016, 19:46

Is google play music streaming compatible with runeaudio?

I'm having trouble mounting music folder from my windows 7 laptop and have read another post from another user with the same problem but can't figure out a solution. What are the steps I need to take?

Thanks,

Al

p.s. Sorry but this is all new to me :)

Hi Frank,

Sorry for the complete lack of information! I've followed the instructions on sharing on windows 7 and shared the folder 'Music' with my homegroup.

When creating the NAS mount I'm using the following info:

Sourcename: Al Music
SMB/CIFS
IP: I used google to bring up my laptop's IP
Remote directory: Music
Guest access: ON
Advanced options: OFF

I'm getting the following error:

mount error(115): Operation now in progress Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Al, I'd try to mount your Windows 7 share from another computer.

I too have a share named 'Music' that I mount on my RuneAudio

The mount looks like:

//192.168.1.102/Music

Your IP address will probably be different. Also, I had to set the username and password for my remote share since I didn't make the share wide open.

Most time the Guest account is useless, it is on my Windows 7 system. I had to use my Windows 7 login user name and password details to access the share on my system, it has Administrator control. Guest would not work.

Edit: So you could also create an account on Windows that has Administrator control, but DO NOT make the Guest account part of the Administrator group, there's lies the path of destruction.

I've managed to mount the NAS - Thanks to all who helped. I initially found that there was an audible crackling sound and slowing down at times when playing music from the shared folder - I restarted runeaudio and it seems to be fine so far.

So my next step is to try and get Google play music running on runeaudio - is it possible?

Thanks,

Al
