hd44780 16x2 LCD with PCF8574 I2C backpack

Has anyone managed to get an lcd screen with I2C connection working on a B+ Pi ? It would be nice to have artist and song title displayed, if this is possible. Any links or instructions to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

I just ordered a hifiberry + for my Raspberry Pi 2+ and want to do the same with an LCD screen.

I'll keep you posted on my effort. Easiest way is to find the right i2c drivers for the screen and use a custom python script to update the screen.

I need helt too. I like to use an I2C OLED display myself, but cant find any description, how to manage this.
I use RPi 2 + Hifiberry like DAC ( BB PCM5102).

If somehow i can get it to work, i will post it here...
