Help with 24/192 flac

Postby jocoman » 04 Oct 2015, 20:49

I am attempting to play a 24/192 flac file using a RaspberryPi b+ and a usb dac. (until my i2s arrives).
It starts to play for a sec then konks out then another sec of audio and konks out.
Is it because the rasperry pi b+ is not powerful enough and i have to upgrade to a RPI 2?
16/44.1 plays fine

Today I plugged in my HiFiberryDac+ and set up i2s but no joy. The Dac is suppose to handle 24/192.
Anything else i could try? The stuttering is better with the HiFiberryDac+.

Where is the audio file located? Most wireless networks will not play 24/192 without stutters.

The file is located on the sd card. ( BTW it works in Volumio)

I've just tried a 24/192 flac on my system - Pi B+ & IQAudioDigiAmp+ and it plays perfect. The file is located on my NAS not the SD Card and is only 30 seconds long. I would suspect that it's your SD Card that can't keep up the required data rate.

Edit - Found a track that was 09:15 long and it played perfectly as well.
