Help with KKbox?

Hello all

First of all, let me say I am a complete beginner with raspberry pi. I have no knowledge of coding at all.

I am trying to use runeaudio on my rpi3B as a streamer, connected via optical to my Devialet Phantom. What I want to know is, is it possible to play music from KKBox on my Windows 7 PC/android phone directly to runeaudio? KKBox is very similar to Spotify, but geared more toward the Asian market. I have tried to search, but have not managed to find anything helpful.

Hi sirrith,
In the settings menu enable 'UPnP / DLNA' and give it a name. You should be able to stream from Android to Rune with this. But Android sometimes has problems seeing rune, you may need to assign a fixed ip address to solve this. There are other posts on the forum about this, search for Android bonjour.
With Windows it depends on how KKBox is set up, I do not know the product. If it can stream to airplay or 'UPnP / DLNA' devices then it should work without problems.

Thanks for the reply! My Android phone can see Rune just fine, but it seems like I have another problem. I'm just trying to play music on a local hard drive, which Rune sees and shows it as playing, but I am not getting any optical signal from my HAT to my speaker. I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or something else. I'm using a Justboom digi hat. I've emailed Justboom for help.

As an aside, KKbox does not seem to have any streaming settings on android/windows... only on apple products.

Please post your debug and specify the product type if you need more help with the Justboom problem.
Can't help you with the windows streaming issues, but some other forum members are experimenting with software to solve this. Search for tuneblade, Lumia or foobar2000.
