Hi Runers

Postby pi-fi » 14 Jun 2016, 22:42

Hi,
I'm new to the forum (and forums in general) so sorry if my couple of questions are in the wrong place!.
I'm more into hi-fi than computers. Which makes me all the more grateful for the skill and effort that's gone into the (clean looking) RuneAudio interface - the only reason I bought a Pi.

I'm using the Pi3B with RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img to play FLAC files out from a (powered) local USB HDD into the O-DAC. I'd be grateful for any answer to the following questions.
Though configured for bit-perfect output into the DAC, the audio level is low when compared to that from a 'bit- perfect' USB output from a laptop (into the same DAC)
1) Is there a reason for this or an adjustment to increase the output?

In the network setup I can see all of my neighbours' wi-fi routers but not my own Technicolor TG582n router (which can be seen OK on other devices)
2) Do you know if my particular router is incompatible?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Thanks very much indeed Frank.

I'm not actually familiar with SSH (or too much else!) but your links will no doubt be helpful.

Cheers

Hi Frank,

Thanks to your guidance:

1) Router found to be locked to channel 13 - reconfigured - wi-fi now working - problem solved.

2) Via alsamixer output was increased from the default level to 0dB full output.
However, the output has reverted to the lower level.
Can you please tell me what action should have been taken to save the increased level?

Thanks again,
Graham

Hi Graham,

the mixer settings should be stored and be persistent over reboots.
You only have to close alsamixer with CTRL-C
