Hifiberry digi+ and usb dongle

Postby meander » 25 Dec 2016, 18:53

Hi Guys,

I am trying to use RuneAudio with Raspberry Pi 3, Hifiberry DIGI+ and a USB dongle. I put and plug everything together, turn on everything, start RuneAudio but under MPD I can not see DIGI+ and under network not a single wireless network is recognized.
I am searching your forum, but could not find the answer. I believe that the above setup should be something very basic for streaming audio, but I am stuck at step 0. Any help will be highly appreciated as unfortunatelly I am not a programmer.
Thanks
Akos

Wow that is quite some support... with some progress on my side.
Enabled hifiberry digi+, now its visible. On the other hans still no wlan network detected. I have app. 20-30 networks around me with mine being 100% strong and on channel 1. Besides the inner wifi of Raspberry Pi 3 I use a wifi dongle (edimax EW-7811Un) that is flashing at boot so I assume it is working. Oh, one more thing, I know the board and the dongle is working as it was workin on an other platform.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

so you can see wlan0 and wlan1 in the network settings?
And none of them shows nearby networks when you click on them?

You can try to set the regdom for your country region in
/etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom

Hi,
Yes that is the case... no wireless networks are there only the cable network.
I know it must be very basic, but what is /etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom ? I can not see this in the software files or folders. How do I set my country's regdom? Its Hungary by the way...
Thanks

Hi meander,

i thought "crda" was installed on the latest image.
As this seems not to be the case you have to install it, please read .

Hi, is there a basic description to SSH? I have downloaded PUTTY but the first thing it needs the user name and password. I have no idea what that is. Also is fdisk something included in runeaudio, so i can simply run it or do I have to download it and run from my computer?
I'll get through i am just very novice. Thanks

so what I did so far.
resized the partition (I believe this went well)
I updated the kernel by opening SSH and simply typing
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi

and than
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware raspberrypi-bootloader linux-raspberrypi

Then
pacman -Sy crda
nano /etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom
I deleted # from the line with "HU" (Hungary I assume)

restarted Pi but still nothing under wlan0

Any idea?

Thanks
