Hifiberry Digi+ not recognised despite editing config.txt

Postby PimH » 29 Aug 2016, 20:41

Hi,

I've installed Runeaudio 0.4 beta on my RaspberryPi 2B with a Hifiberry Digi+ attached.

My problem is that RuneAudio is failing to recognise my Hifiberry card. I have unchecked device_tree_overlay=hifiberry-digi in /boot/config.txt, but this does not result in my Hifiberry showing up in the Audio output interface in the MPD Configuration settings. I fail to understand what I'm missing here. I know that it's not a problem with my Hifiberry card, because I had the same problem trying it at a different RP-Hifiberry setup.

I've copied my debug info to: http://pastebin.com/Amh6s4Lu. I'm grateful for any help!

Thanks,
Pim

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the quick reply. No, what I meant is I tried to install RuneAudio on a different Raspberry 2B with a different Hifiberry Digi+ and encountered the same problem. That is why I'm concluding it can't be a problem with this particular Hifiberry card or RP. But now I''m a bit out of ideas how to solve this.

Cheers,
Pim

Hi Pim,

many users here have Hifiberry Digi DACs and they work.

I would try the HifiBerry test image, to see if it is a hardware problem.

Hi Frank,

Thanks again. I know--this is something that simply works for almost everybody else (and it worked for me once, as well). But knowing that the solution is probably something very simple is exactly what makes it so frustrating now. I've already tried the Hifiberry test image and that worked fine. It sounds a bit like this problem: post16189.html?hilit=hifiberry%20digi#p16189, but there's no solution there, either.

Hi Pim,

one thing you can try is to add
dtparam=audio=off
to your config.txt

This also could be caused by typos in config.txt or blacklisted drivers.
Add “dtdebug=1” to your config.txt and have a look at the output of “dmesg”.
