How to disable WLAN0 and use external wifi adaptor (Pi3)

Postby exyfeplin » 12 Oct 2016, 11:25

I have a PI3 and bought a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro, then found that that card doesn't work with the onboard wifi on the Pi3. This is a known problem that the hifiberry folk haven't been able to fix yet.

So I now have a "Wipi" external USB adaptor but i need to be able to disable the internal wifi.

Come someone tell me how to disable WLAN0?

thanks!

I tried this and it appears that this technique disables all wifi completely, which is not what I need. At least that's what it did for me.

What I want is to disable WLAN0 (internal wifi), but enable WLAN1 (external Wipi USB stick)

Thanks
