How to prevent automatic audio output switching? (solved)

Postby tmilovan » 11 Sep 2016, 11:06

Hi,

I'm using external USB DAC that is set to go to standby when it is not used. Whenever that happens sound output is automatically switched to default and I have to manually switch MPD to external DAC again whenever I turn it on.

Is there a way to prevent this behavior and just let the audio output stay configured to use the external USB DAC all the time?

Thanks.

Hi tmilovan,

on startup Rune checks if the current selected device is available.
If not it tries to find an other output device.
This is done in rune_SY_wrk see .

You can try to uncomment this line.
The file to edit is /var/www/command/rune_SY_wrk

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that does not affect the problem. As soon as I switch the external USB DAC off, mpd switches to the next available card and stays there until I switch the DAC on again, and manually select it from the settings.
