I2S DAC

Raspberry Pi related support

Re: I2S DAC

Will adding kernel modules for I2S enable I2S over hdmi or is an additional chip/ additional harware required to enable i2s over hdmi?

And in the case of simply compiling kernel modules could someone indeed post a little howto to crosscompile the kernel with the correct modules and make the raspberry boot with this setup.

Cheers, daf

I'm looking forward to the next release, as I have a HifiBerry on the way! :D

Do you have an estimate as to when the new release will be ready?

Thanks for all the great work you are doing!

I think we will need at least two more weeks. We have been slow down by a lot of work in our jobs lately, but we are trying to code as much as we can to release the 0.3-beta as soon as possible.

I'm currently using Volumio to support the HiFiBerry, but when I tested Rune (using HDMI output on the Raspberry Pi) I found the Rune GUI to be more responsive, better looking, and the suppor for cover art is also a nice touch.

Hopefully, I will be able to switch back to Rune very soon (that rhymes!) :)

Hi

It might be a bit late in the Beta 3 cycle but could you add support for the Wolfson Audio Card for the Raspberry Pi there is some success reported and the kernel sources are here

Happy to test any and all beta builds :)
