I found that sudo wasn't installed on my pi with the 0.3-beta.
I can't remember the exact commands cause I'm not used to arch linux, but you have to update the repositories with a pacman command and then install sudo with another pacman command. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Not sure why sudo doesn't come with the latest version, it seems that's a standard command?

Just to clarify - the Pi-DAC+ does not passthrough all signals - the Serial pin signals, for example, are not routed. If you need to use the serial port then please remove the Pi-DAC+ and use the standard Pi's GPIO signals.
