Is my new R Pi3 faulty

Postby ICLlP » 18 Aug 2016, 16:47

I just assembled a Pi 3 with a HiFiBerry Digi+ and metal Digi+ case and flashed a new SD card with runeaudio 0.3beta. I can't detect the Pi on the network using Fing and cannot connect at runeaudio.local. I can see a green LED on the Digi+ and a red LED on the Pi, but no flashing LEDs are visible, but it's virtually impossible to see inside the metal case. If I take it away and put my old Pi and Digi in its place it all works OK.

Any insight or advice?

What's happening if you connect the SD, with rune on it, to a PC/MAC? Can you see any content?
If yes, and it is the right content, I would eliminate sources of failure and boot the Pi bare naked, just with the SD. No HifiBerry etc.

I also would flash a SD card with RASPBIAN, following the official guide, and see if it works.
If not, you got a faulty Pi.
If Yes, the failure is somewhere in your rune-installation.

Good advice, thank you. I've established that it isn't booting up. I got this from HiFiBerry, which I'll try first.

No, you just have to change config.txt:

I've just seen that this is what Frank posted. Thank's to all.
