Just tested playing with my newly arrived LH Labs Geek Out 720 on USB.

Still some config to do to have the volume control working from the UI (working from "alsamixer" control via ssh)

Are you using 0.3-alpha version? Please post here via Pastebin your debug info, so we can include your soundcard string in our database in the future.

I've been doing a long session tonight using the Geek Out.
While I can say that overall "it works" , I experienced a couple of issues that I cannot really understand:

1) occasionally when playing 16 bit / 48 Khz flac, I was not getting any sound
The same flac was sounding correctly when connecting the dac to a usb port on my macbook air and using Audirvana as a player

2) when streaming via wifi from Spotify on the iPad, I got a completely distorted sound.
Switcching to the IQ-Audio i2s Dac, the sound was correct.

Any ideas?

Hi franz159, does your DAC use a XMOS chip as USB receiver? I gave a quick look on the LH Labs website but I couldn't find any specs about it.
The problem might occur when switching between different sample rates, like in reported by user will. This could depend on custom firmwares that sometimes don't play well with some kernel versions. USB audio world is everything but exact science
We had a similiar problem with some C-Media implementations too, and we developed a dirty workaround for it. You can enable it under the Settings screen and see if it helps in your case.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion.
However, even the "CMedia fix" does not seem to work.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, but the activation of the "CMedia fix" does not stay put.
I move the slider to "ON" and I click "APPLY FIXES".
If I then change from the "Setting" menu to any other menu choice and then back to "Setting" the "CMedia fix" is back in the "OFF" position.

have you tried turning off the crossfeed on the DAC as a test? its just a thought...
