Just out of curiosity... What kind of power supply unit are you using? Because one time, something similar happened to me because I mistakenly took another PSU that had lower voltage and amps than what is suggested. For a "standard" setup you need a 5V 2A PSU.

This is a "good" 5V 2A walwart. I've always bought the highly rated ones on Amazon, and never less than 2A. I use this same PS with 4 other Pis.

Same as before, no internet players, or anything else on the library page. I tried mounting a network share first, as suggested, but I might not be doing it properly, or else our work network is preventing it. I swear at one point in time, I was able to see a bunch of my coworkers network drives without having to even set it up, but I could be misremembering, or confusing this with my Volumio install.

It is able to play, as before, searching the library, selecting individual songs, adding them to the queue and playing them. Although the queue doesn't show the tracks at all, this is kind of usable. But unless I get a solution soon, I will be switching back to Volumio until this can be sorted out. I like Rune so much better, (can't stand the green interface) but at some point I need to use something that works.

Well, I spoke to soon. After listening to internet radio for a minute or two, I went to the "source" page to see if my thumb drive was listed. It was, but when I went back to library, I saw the same blank screen as before. One thing to note, I never "named" this USB drive when it was plugged into my windows PC, so on the sources page, it was something like "sda1_san_disk_usb_ultra_fi" and it was probably even longer than that. I thought maybe that has something to do with it, so pulled it out and put it in my windows PC and renamed it to a short name, and plugged it back in and rebooted. We will see what happens.

Rebooted and it is back to working OK. I played a track from my library, but it still says the internet radio station I was playing earlier. I am not going back to sources if I can avoid it. Queue isn't displaying anything, which is probably why it is still showing the internet radio. I'm going to wait until the end of the day to see if it improves, at least I can finally play some music!!!

I'm on a wired network, but it is a work network, i.e. there are admin trolls lurking around trying to ruin my fun.

After being up all day, minimal use (I've been away from my desk a lot) I decided to try Spotify. As soon as I went to any page in the "Menu," immediately back to the spinning wheels on the playback screen, no queue, no library. I am going to try and reboot again, as that worked last time. But having to reboot every time I go to the menu? That is not going to be fun.

Yep, rebooted (way faster than before), but I couldn't switch the player over to spotify, I think I had my spotify account info wrong. I changed it and rebooted again and now this (screenshot below.) Rebooting isn't helping this time. I really don't want to have to do this all over again!

I started over again, entered my spotify info, tried to change to spotify engine, it locked up, rebooted, now on the library page, spotify says "music for everyone" and on the playback page it tells me the spotify engine is active. However clicking spotify in the library results in a spinning wheel, nothing else. I'm done with this. I'm moving to internet radio and local storage and stopping this madness. I will be back to the crappy Volumio soon... so sad! I love rune! so much prettier than Volumio! I don't know why this is going so badly! The first time I installed rune it was seamless, no problems!
