Maintaining MPD Library for Disconnected USB Storage

Postby rlsten » 05 Jul 2016, 23:17

Is this usage scenario possible with Rune Audio and a Raspberry Pi 3:

Suppose I have a Raspberry Pi 3 with a SD card (SD1) attached via USB to the Pi3. Rune Audio has built a library from the music on SD1. Now, can I unmount the SD1 and insert a second SD card (SD2), have Rune Audio add the music on SD2 to the library, without losing the information from SD1? The reason for this is if I want to reinsert SD1, I don't want to have to wait for Rune Audio to rebuild the library from SD1, when nothing has changed on it. Is there a combination of settings for USB Automount, Library auto rebuild, and/or using fstab to mount the SD cards that would maintain the database for each card, even when that card is not connected?

Thanks,
Rod
