That looks really great! I see you found a place for your shell casing (chuckle). Thanks for sharing the pics.

It is a shell casing, I thought so.... LoL! Don't tell me it's an on/off button too, or I'll shoot myself!

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the comments.

Rastus, the screen is the official 7" raspberry pi screen, more details here:

Yep, that is the on/off button! :D

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I made the above changes changes to my "carsetupArch.sh" (I assume this is the new version since it's on the Mausberry web site)
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target' > /usr/lib/systemd/system/mausberry.service
systemctl enable mausberry.service

and I get the following error:
[root@runeaudio ~]# bash carsetupArch.sh
carsetupArch.sh: line 60: [Install]: command not found
carsetupArch.sh: line 61: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''
carsetupArch.sh: line 63: syntax error: unexpected end of file

I get the following error when I remove the apostrophe:
carsetupArch.sh: line 60: [Install]: command not found
Failed to execute operation: Unit file is masked

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this seems the best place for my question. I've got a set-up the same as this (except for the awesome Walnut mount!) and I was wondering if anyone could advise me.

The Mausberry switch works perfectly for powering the unit up/down, but if I shut down via the GUI shut down option, it doesn't trigger the mausberry. Is there a simple way to add a call to the mausberry shut down script from the GUI shut down option?

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your quick response. I tried adding the echo to the shutdown script with no success. Just typing the command doesn't seem to do anything either.

I've checked the setup and it is using the default gpio 23&24, but directly echoing the gpio doesn't seem to do anything. :?

Hi paul334,

do you use a momentary push button or a discreet on-off switch?
I think it would be best to ask the manufacturer if it is possible to shut down by command.
