Based on some other advice, I unplugged the DAC, issued a dmesg -C, plugged the DAC back in, and issued a dmesg. Here are the results. It strikes me that when the last events is "cannot get min/max values for control 2 (id 10)" that this must be part of the problem. I wonder if the DAC is a bit non-compliant on something?
