Mounting hard disk drive attached on oher PI

Postby kwatch » 29 Mar 2015, 15:05

I have PI B+ and PI 2 both running Rune. I have an external hard disk drive attached to PI 2. Is there any way I can mount the hard disk drive on PI B+? Thanks.

Hey There,

I know a link is not always the best answer but here is a link to a very concise answer to help you through SSHFS

Samba/NFS would be a better option since there's support for that already.. Just share the drive on the Pi2 then mount it using the Rune UI on the B+

Samba mounting performance is not that good comparing to VortexBox I was using. I cannot play 192KHZ files any more. Too many clicks and hiccups. My PI's are connected wirelessly and VortexBox is connected by wire.

Try NFS; it has slightly better performance than Samba but it's most likely the WiFi connection that's the problem.. if you're unable to run ethernet then perhaps look into using powerlan rather than WiFi.
