NAS mount lost after each reboot

Postby EddyKwally » 13 Nov 2014, 14:06

Hello everyone,

Let me first say that with version 0.3 beta, runeaudio realy went a leap forewarth since the previous version, and after a week or two using it, i realy start to like it. I prefered to switch over to rune, cos i am using AB all over on mi home network and i just love this light version. And cos rune is archlinux based i am sure it would be an improvement.
But i am having a persistive problem, i just cant get fixed....

Guess the tittle says it all, after a reboot, my NAS mount music directory is "gone" and i have to remount it manually. Since i have a real huge collection of music files (most flac-ape-wav) this takes days. I have no idea whats causing this. Didnt have this problem in the other streaming software i used. And since updating this database while listening to radio streams, gives me lotsa sound and music lost and skips, this is pretty anoying....

Also i get a lot of spinning "connecting" wheels, even when switching radio stations. Sometimes, the radio streams is playing, but i cant connect using the webUI, and i need to connect by ssh to reach the rpi.

I am using a brand new SDcard, burned with the latest 0.3beta soft.
The rpi connects to my home network by wifi, and uses a static ip.
It is on 24/24, but of course, the pre-amp it is connected to is not :-)

All advice is welcome, ty in advanced !

I had this issue once that was casued byu the SD card being mounted read-only. (probably because of the physical switch on the SD card itself).

I'm sorry to tell you but no indexing of your media should NEVER take "days". Either thats an extreme exaggeration or you have the ffmpeg decoder plug-in enabled in the MPD settings.....I have almost 1.5TB of FLAC, I think I am in excess of 80k songs and it takes about 30 or so minutes the last time I watched it.

I realy feel a newbie again  Or I'm getting alzheimer :|
Indeed mr aquarius, my SD card had the lock on. Donno how i did it, but that definitively was my own mistake.
The device is working great now, i am truly gratefull for your suggestion !
Ty so much :D
@cmh714 : i have over 8Tb music on my nas but indexing seems to take less than an hour now. TY for your reply !

Glad you got it figured out :)

Yeah there is something about the ffmpeg plugin that it seems to gag on filenames with "special" characters in them. I find it often seems to get hung up on filenames with question marks in them.....at least that is what I have experienced.

I, too, find that my NAS drive is not mounted on reboot. I have to use the Sources interface and press the REMOUNT button each time the Pi is rebooted. This is a minor quibble. I do not have to rebuild my library. Once the mounts are done, the library is available without having to rebuild.

I have this problem too. Remount after boot and we're good again until the next reboot.

Hi all,
I have seen so many people having NAS remount problem, however, I have never have this problem since Raspyfi!
I have Windows server with DNS running in the back end.
I have tried with QNAP, Dlink with Alt-F free firmware, Thecus, Partiot discontinued cheap model and the shuttle KS10 one drive NAS. They are all work fine!
It could be related to router compatibility, or try the NAS with static IP address.
Hope these help!

The bug only happens with wi-fi connection and it's due a timing issue (the system tries to mount the network drives before the network is up). We are going to solve that as soon as possible.
