Soundblaster USB fast playback issue

Postby dabravokid » 12 Feb 2016, 23:43

Hi all and first off this is looking to be a very promising app. Here is my pastebin http://pastebin.com/Kn3z9YDP for info. I've got a Pi2 B with 8gb SD and Creative SB USB Dac and a default install of the latest Beta Runeaudio RuneAudio_rpi2_0.3-beta_20150304_2GB. I've found the after initial boot the playback page has lot of swirling icons, Spotify doesn't appear to work even with the feature enabled and correct credentials. The last issue I have is with Airplay, my phone connects fine but playback appears to be speeded up and it pauases every 20 seconds when I'm assuming the cache has overtaken the music comng from the iPhone. Any help appreciated, I would really like to make this a flawless multiroom solution and prove to friends and family this is a viable solution to Sonos etc...

Hi thanks for the info, I've done the update and it seems to have fixed the Spotify and also the playback screen so that's great :D . The only issue I now have is the speeded playback and slight pause every 30 seconds ish. This is happening on all playback I've tried, both airplay from iPhone and also via Spotify in playback. I will try using onboard audio and remove the USB Dac from the mix. I see this error when I power cycle the unit and this when the palyback screen goes funky:

Warning: socket_write() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 343 Warning: socket_last_error() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 332 Warning: socket_close() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 333

I also get this on the Spotify playback screen.

Ok more debugging done, it seems to be the Creative Sound Blaster Wireless USB DAC that's causing the issue. If I plug the Pi analogue into speakers it plays at correct speed. Anybody know if this problem is fixable on the Sound Blaster? It appears the device is playing back at 48000 rather than 44100.

I just got same message on screen this morning ("Warning: socket_write() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 343 Warning: socket_last_error() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 332 Warning: socket_close() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /srv/http/app/libs/runeaudio.php on line 333").
This happened to me after changing to another power-supply (which supplies less amperes): I got rid of it just changing to a more powerful power-supply: I reboot and it disappeared from the screen. Perhpas in your case, a USB DAC sucks too-much to your present power-supply.
Try a more powerful one and see if the message still appears... my 2 cents!

Take care,

Victor
