How to set up wifi without ethernet

I tried to :
- format my microSD
- use an other microSD
- re-download the ISO
- use an other tool to flash the microSD

Nothing changed...

There's my debug data :
http://pastebin.com/THpnxxav

I think the ISO on this website is not the correct one.
On the download page it is written "v0.3-beta" for Raspberry Pi 3, but the one I get is "RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB"
For the RPi3 the ISO should not be different of the RPi2 ?

Hello, I tried again Moode audio today and my wifi doesn't work... It seems to be a hardware problem.
Don't know why, maybe the wifi chip is dead ? How can I check it ?

EDIT :
Volumio says bad errors :

Rony ...

The SD card image is the same for RPi2 and RPi3

I have both models and my RPi3 is marked ... Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2

When using my RPi3, RuneAudio reports the hardware environment as RPi2. I assume this is a coding bug which has no effect as it's for info (misinfo) only.

Best wait for Frank to comment on yr Debug report but I cannot see a wireless interface connected (wlan0).

The wireless modules (brcmfmac and brcmutil) do not appear to be loaded.

Perhaps your RPi3 internal wireless is turned off (blacklisted). Check the file ...

/etc/modprobe.d/disable_rpi3_wifi_bt.conf

It should read like this ...

##wifi
#blacklist brcmfmac
#blacklist brcmutil
##bt
#blacklist btbcm
#blacklist hci_uart

Do you have a USB wireless dongle that you could try?

Hope some of this helps

Hello, thanks for Quick reply.

I tried with a netgear wifi dongles and it works without doing anything.
So, how can i check what's wrong with my integrated wifi ?

I bought my RPi 3 just 2 weeks ago... :|

EDIT :
My file /etc/modprobe.d/disable_rpi3_wifi_bt.conf is the same as yours, all in comment.

Rony ...

With my RPi3 when I issue the command lsmod this is what I get ...

[root@runeaudio ~]# lsmod
Module Size Used by
nls_utf8 1452 1
brcmfmac 196427 0
brcmutil 8376 1 brcmfmac
cfg80211 497999 1 brcmfmac
snd_bcm2835 22495 0
snd_pcm 89185 1 snd_bcm2835
snd_timer 22123 1 snd_pcm
snd 63955 3 snd_bcm2835,snd_timer,snd_pcm
bcm2835_gpiomem 3718 0
bcm2835_rng 2199 0
rng_core 8163 1 bcm2835_rng
bcm2835_wdt 3621 0
uio_pdrv_genirq 3591 0
uio 9277 1 uio_pdrv_genirq
sch_fq_codel 8116 3
ip_tables 12280 0
x_tables 17670 1 ip_tables
ipv6 369985 0
[root@runeaudio ~]#

The wireless modules ( brcmfmac & brcmutil ) are both loaded.

What do you get using lsmod ?

Secondly - I've read lots of stuff on the forums about poor/low powered Power Supplies - which affect wireless.

My PSU is rated at 2 Amp. The Official Raspberry Pi PSU for the RPi3 is rated at 2.5 Amp.

Is your power supply sufficient?

Hello,

That's what I get (without wireless dongle) :

I use a 2A power (from my UE Boom), I tried with the USB of my desktop PC but that's the same.

Rony ...

Clearly the Rpi3 wireless modules are not loaded in your case.

My experiences which I've posted in this topic are based on an Rpi3 set up as a Wireless AP following instructions from Frank in a separate forum topic.
Based on that perhaps you could try some updating ...

pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi

Then do ...

cd /var/www
rm command/mpd-watchdog
git pull

Frank also recommended ...

rm /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.

Perhaps you should try these actions and then reboot ?

Hello.

For the last command, don't forget to put the "conf"
 "rm /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.conf"

I did all commands, but still not have "wlan0" on my network interfaces...

How can I be sure it's a hardware problem ? So I'll be able to contact the seller (Hifiberry).
